How To Pair a Rail Asset With the Nexxiot Mounting App

Pairing your 'rail' asset with the Nexxiot Mounting App is straightforward. Here's a step-by-step guide:

1. Pre-Requisites:

• Ensure you have an Android or iOS smartphone.
• Ensure the Near Field Communication (NFC) scanning feature is enabled on your phone.
• Make sure to enable location services for the app.
  
  While every device is different, generally, you can toggle the NFC feature from the Settings menu in your Android. From the menu, look for "NFC," "Connections," "Connected devices," or a similar option.

FYI: NFC is a set of communication protocols that enable two electronic devices, one of which is usually a portable device such as a smartphone, to communicate when they are within close proximity (usually 4 cm or less).

2. Install the Nexxiot Mounting App:

• Navigate to the Google Play Store on your Android Phone or the App Store on your iOS device.
• Search and download the Nexxiot Mounting App.

3. Login to the Nexxiot Mounting App

• Launch the application on your device.
• Enter your Nexxiot credentials and log in.

4. Begin the Pairing Process

• On the home screen, select the type of asset you would like to pair using the Nexxiot Mounting App. 
• Select "Railcar" to pair your rail asset.

One of the steps asks you to take three photos of the mounting location. During this step, your phone's camera will activate, prompting you to capture the Globehopper's mounting location.

• Ensure the device is visible in the shot.
• Press "CONTINUE" if you are satisfied with the photo. If you'd like to try again, tap "RETAKE PHOTO."

7. Verify the Mounting Data:

• Review and ensure all details are accurate.
• Press "CONFIRM" if everything is correct to finalize the mounting process.

8. Take Note of the Mounting Confirmation:

Once you complete all the required steps, a dialogue window will pop up, letting you know that your asset has been successfully paired.
