Events in Connect Intelligent Cloud are integral to maintaining a clear and updated understanding of your fleet's operations. This article provides an in-depth look into events, their significance, and how they function within the Nexxiot ecosystem.

What Are Events?

Events are automated notifications triggered by specific occurrences within your fleet, as determined by your configured trigger settings. They are critical for keeping you aware of your assets' status and conditions.

When Is an Event Generated?

Events are generated when they match the definitions set in your trigger configurations. Triggers are predefined rules that specify the conditions under which an event should be created. When a trigger's conditions are met, an event is automatically generated in Connect Intelligent Cloud.

Understanding Event Severity Levels:

Severity levels categorize events in Connect Intelligent Cloud to indicate their importance or urgency. The level of urgency falls within one of three categories: Information, Warning, or Alert. 

1. Information: These events provide routine updates or non-critical information about your fleet. 
2. Warning: Events with a warning level signify situations that require attention but are not immediately urgent. 
3. Alert: The most critical category, Alert events, signals urgent issues that demand an immediate response, highlighting potentially serious concerns within your fleet. 

How Are Notifications Delivered?

Events can be delivered by email, through desktop notifications, or both. These notifications help to keep you informed on the condition and status of your assets. 

• Email Notifications: Should your trigger settings include email alerts, you'll receive notifications directly in your inbox.
• Desktop Notifications: Configure the system to send notifications straight to your desktop for real-time awareness. This ensures constant updates, even when you’re not actively on the system.

Where Are Events Found in Connect Intelligent Cloud?

You can access event information through two primary areas in Connect Intelligent Cloud:

• Events Page: This page offers a holistic view of all events across your fleet, allowing for a broad overview of ongoing activities and incidents.
• Asset Details Page: The asset details page shows events related to a particular asset. It also displays a map for GPS tracking.

By leveraging events in your fleet management strategy, you can promptly respond to various scenarios, enhancing operational efficiency and proactive management.
